FAR OUT: KAI JONES (2018, USA, 5 minutes) Filmmaker: Teton Gravity Research; Classification: General Film Synopsis: Eleven year old Kai Jones isn’t old enough to go to the movies alone or order a sandwich at the pub, but in the mountains age doesn’t matter. He is following in his family’s ski tracks… right into backflips and tricks off of cliffs.

FAST HORSE (2018, Canada, 14 Minutes) Filmmaker: Director: Alexandra Lazarowich Producer: Niobe Thompson Website: ; Parental Guidance – Coarse language. FAST HORSE follows the return of the Blackfoot bareback horseracing tradition in a new form: the Indian Relay. Siksika horseman Allison Red Crow struggles to build a team with second-hand horses and a new jockey, Cody Big Tobacco, to take on the best riders in the Blackfoot Confederacy at the Calgary Stampede.

THE MIRNAVATOR (2017, USA, 11 minutes) Filmmaker: Sarah Menzies;  ;Ultra-runners overcome obstacles with every stride. Force of Nature Mirna Valerio never thought she would have to overcome the negative voices that believe she doesn’t belong in the sport.

SURVIVING THE OUTBACK (EDIT) (2018, Australia, 44 minutes)  Michael Atkinson : Parental Guidance – Coarse language Film Synopsis: Could you survive alone across hundreds of kilometres of remote outback for a whole month, trekking and sailing on a makeshift raft, with nothing but a time capsule of antique stuff from 1932? Mike wasn’t sure he could pull it off either!

THE BEAVER BELIEVERS: MEET SHERRI TIPPIE (2018, USA, 12 minutes) Sarah Koenigsberg  General Sherri Tippie, a hairdresser / Certified Live Beaver Trapper is working to restore the North American Beaver, the most industrious, ingenious, furry little engineer, to the watersheds of the American West.

THE MOMENT (EDIT) (2018, Canada, 15 minutes)  Darcy Tennessey Turenne Parental Guidance – Coarse language;  In the backwoods of British Columbia, three small but dedicated crews of adventure seekers were quietly changing the course of a sport and carving their paths in history. The Moment captures the birth and success of the original free ride mountain bike movement.

MY MOM VALA (2017, USA, 10 minutes) RC Cone, Elli Thor Magnusson, Scott Ballew, Taylor Johns  General; Vala lives in Reykjavik, Iceland and travels to Greenland for work and to immerse herself in rivers thick with migrating char. But for Vala’s 10-year old daughter, Mathilda, Greenland lives only in the stories that her mother tells and her own imagination.

THE FRENCHY -(2018, USA, 13 minutes)  Michelle Smith; Parental Guidance – Coarse language; Jacques is an 82-year-old, badass athlete, but the real story is how he inspires us with his contagious love of life, epic tales of survival and his ability to counter aging through laughter.
