Our Story

Launched in 1998, Chestnut Mountain Productions has continued to expand so that we continually bring to our audiences a diverse menu of outdoor adventure and mountain theme films. Each festival is designed to be an entertaining experience – from the carefully prescreened select of a variety of mountain themed films to the awarding of prizes from our partners. One or more special events are built into the customer experience at each festival such as live musical entertainment, or brief presentations from filmmakers, if appropriate free ski lift tickets, raffles and more.

Our attendance keeps growing! From our humble beginnings of only three venues, we now host 19 shows – and always to a full house – last season all shows sold out. Recent surveys indicate that, on average, 55% of the audience is male, 47% of the attendees are between the ages of 25 to 34, 95% attended college (26% graduate school), and more than 70% have an annual income exceeding $75,000.

Corporate Partners who recognize the value of increased market penetration for promoting their company and products

Retail Partners who promote the event in their community, sell festival tickets at their retail establishments and support the CMP “Giving Something Back” community program.

Community Partners – CMP works with local non-profit organizations to raise funds in support of youth programs, equipment for trail maintenance, search and rescue efforts, etc. To date, we have raised over $138,000.

Media Partners who promote upcoming festivals via television and radio interview shows, newspapers and magazines.
